Position Summary

Under the direction of FMS, this position performs assigned glazing cleaning and maintenance tasks in and out of college buildings. Uses a variety of equipment and supplies to maintain a clean and safe environment. Incumbent's services impact others who make a broader contribution to the final service provided the customer. Job requires ordinary verbal skills to exchange routine information. Responsible for performing journeyman-level work output on an independent basis subject to supervisory direction and review.

Location: Based out of Sylvania Campus, but works throughout the District as work demands.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.

1. Lift operation experience and certification to use fork lift, bucket lift, scissor lift, and boom lift to height of 130 feet.
2. Experience in the use of cleaning agents which includes solvents, detergents and chemical agents;
3. Basic computer skills and understanding of operations and software applications such as email.
4. Experience of safety precautions required to work around power lines and lifts in high places.
5. OSHA training in operation of equipment as well as standard OSHA training.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

High school diploma or equivalent.

One year of general work experience, including trades or labor, or custodial work (education or training in the facilities maintenance trades may substitute for work experience).

Must have a valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle in Oregon and possess an acceptable driving record.

Forklift driver certification within six months of employment.

Position Grade 15
Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $32,666 to $33,646 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions. May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise and temperature extremes. Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. while performing job duties. Wrist, hand and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials
