Under the direction of management, the Property Control Assistant (Logistics Specialist II) performs a variety of tasks to process and track college inventory and surplus according to college, state and federal regulations. Accountabilities include picking up and delivering college surplus, assisting in physical inventories of college fixed assets, and assisting with tagging equipment. Job requires good verbal skills to present and exchange information with staff and external agency representatives. Work results impact beyond the immediate work section. Work Modality: On site 5 days per week.Picks up and delivers college surplus at various sites using a college vehicle.Assists with the disposition of items no longer deemed necessary for College use following College, state, and federal regulations. Assists disposition of items through public sales via the Internet or other government agencies.Assists in conducting physical inventory counts in areas throughout the college district.Assists in fielding inquiries regarding various topics, including College surplus, disposition of equipment, and fixed assets.Assist with locating, tagging and photographing fixed assets located throughout the College district.Accesses and retrieves information from the College's mainframe.Cross-trains and serves as backup in other Central Services functions.Maintains a clean and safe workplace. Follows safety procedures and uses proper lifting techniques to ensure personal health and safety. Participates in initial and ongoing training in the safe handling of chemicals and other potentially hazardous materials.Operates forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, delivery vans/trucks to deliver and pick up equipment, books, furniture and other merchandise throughout the College district and Portland area businesses and schools.

- Demonstrated experience employing high-level customer service skills (dealing with staff, administrators and faculty)- Experience organizing and scheduling work to meet established, strict timelines with minimum supervision.- Demonstrated experience working effectively with the public.- Experience working under various regulations/policies, and communicating to those who are unfamiliar with those policies.- Have the ability to learn to process the mail (sorting and running the mail machine)- Able to lift 50 lbs
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. One year of experience related to materials handling including tracking and delivery. Basic knowledge of computer data entry/retrieval procedures.Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Oregon, and possess an acceptable driving record including three years of accident-free driving, with no recent moving violations. Must acquire Forklift Operator certification within six months of employment. Job requires well-developed verbal skills to present and exchange information which is sometimes technical or complex.
