Locksmith (Facilities Operations Maintenance Specialist III)

Position Summary

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
Location: Home office at Sylvania Campus, but travels throughout the district as needed.

The Locksmith designs, implements and maintains a multilevel complex access and security control system for use at all college campuses and other buildings maintained by PCC. Installs, repairs and maintains locks and keys. Hires and oversees contractors as needed. Meets with Plant Services personnel, contractors and architects to convey and exchange complex and technical information. Incumbent is a key contributor with work results impacting the accuracy, reliability and acceptability of further results beyond the immediate work section. Responsible for producing journey level work output on an independent basis subject to supervisory direction and review.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.

- Experience with a master key system
- Experience working in a commercial setting
- Experience working on/repairing panic hardware

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

High school diploma or equivalent.

Five years of facilities maintenance, construction, or repair experience in a commercial or industrial setting (two years of education or training, or an Associate's Degree, in the facilities maintenance trades may substitute for two years of work experience).

Two years of experience as a Locksmith is required

Must have a valid driver's license for operation of a motor vehicle in Oregon and possess an acceptable driving record. Some positions may require a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license from the State
of Oregon or Commercial Driver's License, Class A, for operation of commercial motor vehicles in the State of Oregon within twelve months of employment.

Forklift driver certification required within six months of employment.

Position Grade 21
Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $61,361 to $63,199 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.  May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise and temperature extremes. Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. while performing job duties.  Wrist, hand and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials
