Join the Portland Community College (PCC) team! The Contract & Grant Accounting Department is seeking a talented Grant Accountant II. The Grant Accountant II serves at the Downtown Center, conveniently located next to the light rail, downtown waterfront, and many restaurants and retail options. Employees have the option of a hybrid work arrangement where a portion of their regular workweek is spent remote/telecommuting and the other portion is spent at the Downtown Center or assigned campus location. Additional approval is required for alternate work accommodations. Under the direction of the Contract & Grant Accounting Manager, the Grant Accountant II is well-versed in applying federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies to manage various grants and contracts that support the College's mission of equitable student success. The Grant Accountant II portfolio will could be a mix of local, state, and federal grants. The Grant Accountant II will collaborate with departmental managers by providing technical information regarding accounting principles and the College's accounting, workflow, and contract management software. Additionally, the Grant Accountant II will coordinate with the Contract & Grant Accounting Manager, internal stakeholders, and fellow team members coordination projects that support not only CGA, but also other departments and divisions that are supported by grant projects.

Knowledge of and experience applying federal and state laws, rules, and regulations to grants and contracts;Experience working with governmental/non-profit fund accounting;Experience preparing financial reporting to federal/state agencies to support grant reimbursement;Experience coordinating with project investigators and grant administrators to submit timely reports and ensure grant compliance;Experience providing technical information to departmental managers and other staff regarding college accounting requirements and college accounting software;Experience preparing and/or reviewing complex budgets;Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (experience performing the duties described in the Classification description may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis). Experience working with computerized accounting systems and how they aid in compiling, maintaining, and using accounting information.
