Position Summary

The PCC Information Technology & Security Department (IT) is seeking to hire a team-oriented and self-starting Senior Office Assistant. The Senior Office Assistant performs a wide variety of administrative functions in support of the Information Technology & Security Department (IT). This role will directly support the AVP, but will assist IT leadership, in general, with scheduling, purchasing, data entry, filing of electronic documents, and other administrative duties.

Special attention will be given to candidates with demonstrable knowledge of PSEC and Accounts Payable processes, as well as Banner Finance and HR. Special attention will also be given to candidates with a working knowledge of IT operations.

This position is located at the Sylvania Campus four days per week with Fridays remote. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch break. This is a 2 year temporary role expected to end March 30, 2027.

· Extensive knowledge of PCC internal operations, policies and procedures, especially with regard to HRIS

· Extensive Banner experience

· Experience with event management

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of office assistant experience. College or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the experience requirement. Experience, education or training in the department or program area of assignment is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 Knowledge of:

  • Contemporary office practices, procedures and techniques;
  • Spelling, vocabulary, math and grammar skills appropriate to the level of the position;
  • Advanced budget principles.
Skills in:
  • Operating a computer and various software packages;
  • Operating a variety of office equipment;
  • Identifying student needs and matching them with available resources.
Ability to:
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Meet college expectations regarding customer service;
  • Maintain a reliable and dependable attendance record;
  • Provide effective and responsive service to department customers and contacts;
  • Locate information using electronic resources, including the Intranet and Internet, as assigned;
  • Learn and utilize Banner or other information systems and databases;
  • Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
 
Position Grade 18
Starting Salary Expectations $52,293 to range midpoint of $55,474; based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work pressure and interruptions occur on an ongoing basis due to competing priorities and deadlines. Must be able to interact professionally with distraught or reactive individuals. Exposure to constantly changing physical and ergonomic environments. Ability to lift and work on equipment that may be located in tight and poorly lighted spaces, such as under desks, in closets, or other confined areas. Lifting and moving of computer components and peripherals weighing up to 40 pounds is sometimes required. Requires occasional periods of sustained effort and crawling under desks and confined spaces to install/uninstall and/or move equipment across campus.
