Portland Community College’s Advanced & Applied Technologies pathway seeks an Instructional Administrative Assistant II (IAA-II) to support the Aerospace & Transportation department. Administrative competence is important, but more important is an enthusiasm, interest, and ability to collaborate across departments and pathways to foster an exceptional service experience to PCC students, partners and internal stakeholders. This is temporary position with a end date of May 20, 2025 The Advanced & Applied Technologies Pathway serves students, faculty, industry partners, and community members. Advance & Applied Technologies offers a variety of programs, activities, and services in career technical education fields and is an integral part of the educational mission of PCC. Reporting directly to the Aerospace & Transportation Program Dean, the Instructional Administrative Assistant II provides an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, inclusive, and enthusiastic candidate to support the daily operations of Auto Collision Repair, Automotive Services, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Aviation Science, Diesel Technology, and Caterpillar Dealer Service Technology and for the collective teams in the Advanced & Applied Technologies Pathway. The position requires an ability to think and plan strategically, balance multiple priorities and accomplish goals and priorities that further the department's mission and vision of creating a college climate that demonstrates PCC’s commitment to civil rights, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The IAA-II helps with programming events on campus including logistics (purchases, room, AV, and catering), supports faculty and staff programming needs, responds to student inquiries, oversees assigned projects, coordinates, and works with external industry partners. This position will be designated “on-site flex” working four days a week onsite and one day remote. - Experience using computer applications at an advanced level including Microsoft
office, Google workspace, Banner, and internal data management, and advanced proficiency utilizing a variety of technical modalities, video conferencing/virtual meeting platforms, and other data management systems. - Experience monitoring financial transactions.
- Experience providing customer service to internal or external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrates awareness of one’s own cultural background and how it influences
perception, values, and practices and how these perceptions, values, and practices shape one’s relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
- High school diploma or equivalent and three years of administrative support experience or one year in a position equivalent to IAA I.
- College or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the administrative experience requirement.
- Other equivalent combinations of experience and training will be considered.
