Position Summary

Operations Manager I
The Opportunity Center at 42nd Avenue is a complex, multi-agency collaborative environment. In addition to the range of Community Workforce Development services and PCC academic credit and noncredit programming including the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the center also includes staff and services from Oregon Department of Human Services and NAYA.

Other collaborative partners on the property include Home Forward, with an 84-unit affordable housing community, an Early Learning Center and the Fernhill (Multnomah County) Community Clinic.

The Operations Manager position will be integral to ensuring the operations across the center property are smooth, coordinated and safe. The scope of work will entail liaising with College departments, the community, and/or external agencies providing direction and information . The position will also take the lead on communicating and collaborating with College departments on such areas as building infrastructure issues, security access and being a key partner with other building partners.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.

  1. Proven experience working within a trauma-informed lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion supporting staff to provide excellent customer service, diffusing difficult situations and providing human-centered solutions
  2.  Demonstrated experience managing daily building operations liaising daily with Facilities Maintenance, Custodial Services, IT as well as other external agencies and organizations. Able to problem solve and remediate issues.
  3.  Experience with successfully multi-tasking, time management and prioritization in a high-energy environment with competing needs and demands.
  4.  Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work individually including supervising a team and working with outside partners.
  5.  Highly proficient in computer software applications, data entry, cloud-based applications, and conducting meetings using video conferencing

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Education or related area. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Three years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment, including two years of lead or supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of PCC LEAD Academy or a comparable external leadership training program may substitute for up to 6 months of lead or supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated work experience related to the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and/or social justice in grant funded programs.
  •  Experience working in dynamic environment with multiple State and County Agencies Culturally Specific Organizations
  •  Understanding the needs of small business owners
  •  Demonstrated experience working with an integrated facility service request solution system
  •  Experience working in an educational/employment and training program with diverse student populations including ethnically diverse, first-generation, low-income students.
Position Grade I
Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $72,765.00 to range midpoint of $89,135. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
Position Grade Salary Range $72,765.00 to $105,512.00 Annual Salary

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. No special
coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job
satisfactorily.
