Position Summary

This position is Bond-funded.  The current Bond is funded through June 30, 2033.

The Office of Planning and Capital Construction is looking for an experienced and driven individual with audio-visual technical experience to help navigate our complex jobs across the finish line. The Associate Technology project manager will be part of a diverse collaborative team, building spaces for future PCC students. This role will manage AV installation projects for classrooms, conference rooms, and unique spaces such as simulation labs, fitness centers, and performance venues.

This position will support multimillion-dollar renovations, smaller AV projects, and equipment replacements. Associate Technology Project Manager performs various activities relative to project planning, estimating, scheduling, budget administration, contract administration, procurement, coordination, cost control, document control, outreach, and engagement.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience managing the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific AV systems integration in higher education
  • Work across teams with PCC stakeholders developing and updating AV standards and specifications
  • Working well with diverse groups whose needs may conflict. Listening to and understanding the diverse needs of project managers, architects, end users, contractors, and IT operations
  • Developing creative solutions to complex technical audio-visual challenges, including integration with other systems

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Interior Design or other related field AND two years (2) directly related experience as a contributing member of a project team is required; experience with capital projects is preferred. Verifiable internships will be considered.

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree AND four years (4) directly related experience as a contributing member of a project team; experience with capital projects is preferred. Verifiable internships will be considered.

OR

  • Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Interior Design or other related field AND four years (4) directly related experience as a contributing member of a project team; experience with capital projects is preferred. Verifiable internships will be considered.

OR

  • Six years (6) directly related experience as a contributing member of a project team; experience with capital projects is preferred. Verifiable internships will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in AV/Video, Teleconferencing industry

Starting Salary Expectations Minimum $85,646 to range midpoint of $104,917. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is split between an office setting and on project sites. There are frequent interruptions and changes in the workflow/volume depending on the number of projects being worked on concurrently. Occasional lifting and/or carrying of materials or equipment may be required. Driving between project sites within the district and community is often a component of the job.
