Position Summary

The Physical Sciences Program is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Instructional Administrative Assistant II (IAA II) based at the Rock Creek Campus. The responsibilities of this position will be onsite. This is a temporary position that will run until 9/31/2025.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with community college students, faculty, and staff from diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds using oral and written media.  
  • Ability to problem-solve proactively in collaboration with college faculty, staff, and administration to address questions promptly.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, versatility, and creativity working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to track and prioritize requests from multiple people simultaneously, following through to ensure tasks are completed with detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to navigate college websites, intranet, and other digital media to find, gather, evaluate, and present information.
  • Ability to process purchases, monitor and report expenses.
  • Experience with complex information systems including, databases, web-based applications, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, and Google platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three years of administrative support experience or one year in a position equivalent to IAA I.
  • College or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the administrative experience requirement.
  • Other equivalent combinations of experience and training will be considered.

 

Position Grade 17
Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $49,582 to $51,070 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age. Partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions (full-time employees only).

Paid Leave: (Pro-rated by FTE for Part-Time Employees)
- Starts at 8 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of service)
- 8 hours of sick leave per month
- 24 hours of additional personal leave days per year - 12 Paid holidays

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions or changes in workflow. Occasional lifting, guiding, or carrying of light-weight materials or equipment may be required. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Learned physical skill is required to perform keyboarding and/or ten-key functions.
