The Future Connect Team at Portland Community College seeks a passionate, student-centered professional to support first-generation and low-income college students. With over 80% of participants identifying as non-white and hailing from local schools, the program emphasizes belonging and guidance as students transition from high school to college.
These bilingual English/Spanish position(s) are primarily on-site at the PCC Rock Creek campus and Cascade Campus, with one day working from home, and includes a 5% salary differential for bilingual skills. As a College Success Coach you will provide academic and career advising, teach required success courses, promote attendance, assist with FAFSA/ORSAA completion, and connect students to community resources.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Science, Counseling, or related field. Experience performing the duties of this job may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated experience working in an educational or social service environment.
Demonstrated experience working with at-risk and culturally diverse populations.
Experience working with students or clients in advising and developing goals.
Experience assessing student needs and coordinating educational and community based services.
Experience managing caseload and case files.
Preferred Qualifications
One year academic advising in a college setting.
Demonstrated experience working with first-generation college students.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of local programs working on transitioning students to college
Knowledge of degree & certificate requirements
Knowledge of FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Aid) and ORSAA (Oregon Student Aid Application) and the finances of college.

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Evening hours are required. Occasional weekend hours may be required.
Occasional lifting of marketing materials and display units used for college/high school fairs required. Travel between campuses and various remote sites requires the ability to drive and use of a personal vehicle.

This position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). Campus Security Authorities must immediately report Clery Act crimes that occurred on Portland Community College’s Clery geography on the Crime Incident Report (CIRTrac™) located on the Department of Public safety’s Clery Act compliance webpage. Following entry of a report on CIRTrac™ PCC’s Clery Specialist will (1) analyze the report for issuance of a timely warning or emergency notification; and (2) will determine if the report should be included in the annual statistical disclosures. The Clery Specialist shall annually assign CSAs online Clery Act training to ensure they are provided proper training to fulfill their reporting responsibilities required by the Clery Act and PCC’s Clery Act policy.
