Position Summary

The Men of Color Leadership Program Coordinator (MoCLP) is grounded on foundational principles of “Men’s Work” and critical theory of adult learning, popular education, and a social justice framework. The mission of the MoCLP is to support the recruitment, retention, and holistic (academic, leadership, professional) success of Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC) men and to advance diversity, inclusion, and equity on campus and district wide.

Grounded in critical theory of adult learning, popular education, and a social justice framework, the mission of the Multicultural Centers (MC) The Men of Color leadership Program is a part of the department of Multicultural Services and the Division of Student Belonging and Wellbeing. This position would report to the Director of Multicultural Services and will be expected to take up duties in both the Multicultural Center and classroom.

The MoCLP is a year long cohort program that provides tuition free courses (taught by the coordinator) that address navigational challenges for our male identified student population. We offer up to 11+ transferable credits, career guidance and community for our cohorts. As this position is both program coordinator and instructor, the MoCLP connects with our students both in and out of the classroom.

This is position is titled Resource Program Coordinator II in the PCC Classification system.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.

  • Demonstrated experience advocating for BIPOC students and communities; while also understanding the intersectionality of male student populations.
  • Demonstrated experience providing student services and support in a front-line capacity (remote or face-to-face) including experience with student leadership program, crisis management and response, community outreach for staff and students.
  • Familiarity with internal PCC processes (or similar programs) and systems including Banner, Chrome River, Human Resources and Payroll processes and policies.
  • Experience monitoring and tracking budgets, preparing budget reports and updates, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience training, overseeing, and mentoring student staff and supporting students in program planning and implementation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in student development and student success theories and learning, showing knowledge and application of culturally relevant research and practices.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Liberal Arts, Multicultural Studies, Women’s Studies, Gender Studies, Social Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).

Two years of experience in a diverse setting coordinating services or programs, to include one year of experience specific to serving the needs of multicultural populations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer Masters Degree.
  • Prefer experience teaching in a classroom environment.

Position Grade 4
Starting Salary Expectations $59,785 to $64,047 (Step 3); based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
Position Grade Salary Range $59785 to $103673 Annual Salary

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is performed in an office environment. Moderate physical exertion. Occasional lifting of materials which may weigh up to 50 pounds. Occasional travel and the ability to work some evening and weekend hours required.
