Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director of the Office of International Student Services (OISS), the SEVIS OA II works with current F-1 International Students at Portland Community College (PCC). This position will work closely with the SEVIS Coordinator, providing office support related to F-1 international student’s SEVIS records

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.

  • 1-3 years working with a population of F-1 international students
  • Current knowledge of F-1 international student visa rules and regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-native English speakers of varying English language levels
  • Ability to work successfully with Google Drive, EAB (Navigate), Banner
  • Effectively work with students and staff of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of office assistant experience (Note: College or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the experience requirement.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience studying abroad
  • Fluency in one language other than English
  • Skills in community services and resources for appropriate referrals
  • Learn about, and connect students with Portland Community College programs

Position Grade 15
Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $38,923 and $40,091 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Positions in this job family typically work in an office setting but may be assigned more physical duties such as transporting office supplies and equipment. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Some positions may involve limited local travel.
