Position Summary and Candidate Profiles

Portland Community College’s Entry Level Healthcare Programs program provide students and working professional opportunities to learn new skills, refresh their cardiac knowledge, or fulfill continuing education units (CEUs) needs. We are currently seeking part-time faculty members who have current content knowledge, who can balance academics with practical application, and are committed to equitable student success.

To be considered for a part-time faculty position, your application must demonstrate the Instructor Qualifications outlined below.

 

IV Therapy Instructor

The Institute for Health Professional’s Intravenous Therapy Course is an introductory, comprehensive, one-day course intended for RNs, LPNs, dental assistants and hygienists, medical assistants, healthcare students and other medical professionals to increase their intravenous cannula insertion skills. Class will include presentation of current best practices and guidelines for insertion, legal and documentation issues, and hands-on practice using mannequins.

Minimum Instructor qualifications:

       RN (Oregon license)

       Minimum two years of experience doing peripheral intravenous therapy

Recommended:

       Bachelor degree or higher

       CRNI (Certified RN Intravenous) certification

Notes Regarding Academic Credentials

  • Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications. 
  • Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
