Pool - Clerical / Administrative (Hourly/Casual)

Position Summary

This Hourly Hiring Pool represents non-benefitted job openings that may become available in the future. There is no guarantee of interview or employment from this recruitment. Jobs may be located in any of several campuses and centers throughout the PCC district. Hours and schedules vary. 

This work is composed of clerical tasks involving typing/word processing, record keeping, filing, telephone and personal interaction and similar activities within an office environment. The employee can work up to 599 hours per fiscal year. 

Applications will be active in the recruitment for 12 months, after which applicants will receive in email letting them know that their application has expired. Applicants are welcome to reapply.

Basic Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications involve the ability to perform the duties at one or more of the following levels: 

Level I: 
Involves routine clerical support, generally limited to a department or division. Work situations are generally standard and recurring. Problems can generally be resolved through accessing policies/procedures. 

Examples:
- Clerk 
- Receptionist 
- Mail clerk 
- General Office Support 

Level II 
Work is more complex, from routine to varied, requiring journey-level job skills. Some decisions require that the incumbent draw from knowledge and past experience to resolve issues not clearly defined by policy/procedures. May involve directing the work of others. 

Examples:
- Advanced Administrative Support 
- Computer/Data-entry Operator 
- Accounting Clerk 
- Registration Clerk 
- Cashier

Notice of the Availability of the Annual Security Report:

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), you may view Portland Community College’s (PCC) most recent Annual Security Report (ASR) on the Department of Public Safety website. The ASR contains current security and safety-related policy disclosure statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information and resources, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains crime statistics for Clery Act crimes which occurred on PCC properties for the last three calendar years. Paper copies of the ASR are available upon request at all Department of Public Safety offices.
